Sharps Disposal
Needles and syringes should be safely disposed of. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has identified ways to safely handle medical sharps:
- Do NOT recap needles.
- Place sharps in either a medical sharps container (purchased from Amazon or a pharmacy) or in a heavy plastic or metal container.
- You may use household containers, such as plastic detergent bottles, with a securely closing lid.
- Do not overfill containers.
- Keep containers out of reach from children and pets.
- Fully seal sharps container prior to disposal in a solid waste receptacle.
- Never place the container in the recycle bin.
Medication Storage
How you store your GLP-1 medicine at home is critical for maintaining its effectiveness and safety. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
- Always store your GLP-1 medicine in the refrigerator at 36-46°F (2-8°C). Exposing your GLP-1 medicine to direct sunlight or other heat sources can affect the medication’s potency.
- Keep your GLP-1 medicine out of reach of children and pets.
- Check your GLP-1 medicine before use for any discoloration or unusual changes in appearance. If you notice anything out of the ordinary (such as a cloudy appearance), do not use the medication.
Contact NewBodyRx or your pharmacy if you have any questions.
